type of upbringing. Does that excuse these crimes also?

My view is these people need help and should be removed from public jobs until they are cured. And if they aren't educated enough to see they need help, then they most certainly are not educated enough to teach our children.

Dear Dr. Menninger:

I read your article on homosexual conduct, and to me you have a short-sighted view of this thing. I never cease to be amazed at the reasoning of you people in responsible positions, who so readily condone everything but murder due to the way or environment in which said person was reared.

In your own sarcastic way, you admit that homosexuals develop their warped feelings in the home. I ask you does that make it OK or acceptable?

You might say murderes, robbers, rapists and arsonists develop their twisted attitudes due to the same

Dear W.V.:

Of course understanding what causes people to behave the way they do does not "excuse" or make OK their behavior. However, sometimes understanding may make it harder to condemn that behavior out of hand.

I certainly do not equate, as do you, private homosexual behavior with murder, robbery, rape and arson. Indeed, there is a considerable difference between private sexual behavior of consenting adults and violent, destructive behavior that damages people and property.

Incidentally, the California voters turned down the proposition which sought to remove automatically persons with a homosexual preference from teaching positions.
